What is inside every engagement

Every Private Client Advisory engagement ships with the complete system.

Eight components delivered against a single candidate, by the founder personally. The same complete system is deployed in every engagement. Advisory intensity and support structure are calibrated to the candidate situation.

§ 01

Founder-led 1:1 advisory

Weekly sessions with Hassan Akram personally. Not a junior advisor. Not a team handoff. The Founder and Principal Advisor runs the engagement end-to-end, from diagnostic through signed offer.

§ 02

The ECS Vault

145 to 175 proprietary documents (Corporate Law) or 165 to 210 documents (Investment Banking). Application engineering, cover letter architecture, video interview, online assessment, assessment centre, case study, written exercise, group exercise, partner interview, offer negotiation. Permanent access.

§ 03

Structured working sessions library

Recorded structured working sessions covering online assessment, assessment centre, and the partner interview. Accessible across multiple recruitment cycles.

§ 04

Twenty-eight assessment simulators

Browser-based. Watson Glaser, Numerical Reasoning, Situational Judgement Tests v1 and v2, Case Study, In-tray. Built specifically for Magic Circle and US Elite firm corporate law assessments, with finance equivalents in the Investment Banking engagement.

§ 05

Six proprietary frameworks

STAR-3 (registered), PEAL-3, PEAL-X, VTMR, BDC, Commercial Fluency. Collectively, the ECS Offer-Engineering System.

§ 06

Members area

Application-only gated portal. Vault, structured working sessions, simulators, frameworks, all surfaced through one dashboard. Permanent access for the engagement and beyond.

§ 07

Founder-reviewed office hours

Continuous access between weekly sessions for application reviews, interview debriefs, late-cycle pivots, and offer-stage negotiation calls.

§ 08

Engagement scope confirmation

The same engagement underneath. Advisory intensity and support structure are calibrated to the candidate situation and confirmed verbally on the Programme Scoping Call after the Diagnostic has established fit.

Every engagement, every tier, every candidate. The same complete spec sheet.

The Proof Anchor

One named, on-camera, audited four-year journey.

Karam Kahlon, named ECS client. University of Exeter to HSBC Investment Banking and Blackstone Spring Insight.
Karam Kahlon · Named, on-camera

Karam Kahlon began with us in November 2022, before he started university. He has since secured the HSBC 2026 Investment Banking Internship and the Blackstone 2026 Spring Insight Programme, with the conversion to full-time graduate offers as the next milestone. Four continuous years of structural work — one named, on-camera, audited journey from a non-target university background to the front-office IB and elite PE pipeline.

The Career Trajectory

The twenty-year line the engagement is sized against.

The economic case for the Private Client Advisory is not the first-year salary. It is the trajectory the candidate joins.

£50k£200k£500k£1M£3MYear 1Year 5Year 10Year 15Year 20Graduate median £80k£165k£750k£4MECS client trajectory · Magic Circle / US Elite / BB Investment BankingUK graduate median (ONS, indicative)

Illustrative twenty-year trajectory. ECS client line is drawn from publicly published NQ salary announcements (Magic Circle, White & Case, Kirkland & Ellis), industry partner / Managing Director compensation reports, and named client outcomes. Graduate median series approximated from ONS Graduate Outcomes data. Compensation varies by firm, practice area and individual progression. Historical outcomes are not a guarantee of future results. ECS is independent and not affiliated with any firm or institution referenced.

Compensation compounds at every stage. The engagement is a small line item against the path it engineers access to.

The Methodology

Offer-Engineering for Elite Careers.

ECS created a category called Offer-Engineering for Elite Careers. We reverse-engineered the selection systems used by the most competitive law firms, banks, and universities on earth, and converted that structural knowledge into transferable frameworks that produce documented outcomes. Six trademarked frameworks underpin the work.

Hassan Akram reviewed more than 10,000 applications from the hiring side of Goldman Sachs, Blackstone, White & Case, and the Magic Circle, working at recruitment agencies that hired for venture capital, private equity, investment banking, and corporate law, before he coached a single candidate.

MBA student club sessions delivered at Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan, and Yale School of Management. Endorsed on the record by Kristin Irish, Former Head of IB Campus Recruiting at UBS Investment Bank New York. UCL graduate. Times of India columnist. London-based.

STAR-3

Behavioural depth. Past situation, present action, future relevance.

PEAL-3

“Why this firm” and “why this sector” articulation.

PEAL-X

Firm-specific positioning across the top fifteen banks and law firms.

VTMR

CV and application architecture.

BDC Diagnostic

Structured candidate assessment at engagement opening.

Commercial Fluency

Sector commentary, market take framing, macro M&A discussion.

The frameworks are deployed in private with the candidate and reinforced through the candidate’s preparation cycle, mock interviews, and live application work.

Who This Is For

Three audiences, in parallel.

01

Parents of candidates aiming for elite firm offers

Magic Circle, US Elite, bulge bracket IB, top US business schools, the global elite undergraduate destinations. Parents are involved throughout. The candidate is the engagement subject. We meet the parents as part of the process, every time, without exception.

02

International and UK candidates

Preparing for the most selective recruitment cycles in London, New York, and Hong Kong. Documented client engagements on file across these three markets.

03

Family offices and UHNW principals

Seeking bespoke advisory for the next generation. Higher-discretion engagements with anonymisation as the default.

The Discipline of Working with Us

How the work is structured.

01

Application-only

We engage a small number of candidates per cycle. Selectivity is the practical mechanism that protects the work.

02

One-to-one with the founder

The candidate is paired with Hassan Akram personally. There is no team-handoff layer. The framework deployment, the live advisory, the application review, and the strategy calls all run through the founder.

03

Sustained engagement

The strongest engagements run for multiple years. Karam's four-year arc is the foundational case but not the only one. Single-cycle engagements exist for late-stage candidates with a specific outcome window. Multi-year engagements are reserved for the families that want to build candidate readiness from before university through to graduation.

04

Confidentiality by default

Candidates and families are anonymised in any external material. Public-facing case studies exist only with explicit consent and are reserved for outcomes where the candidate has chosen visibility — typically candidates whose families want their journey shared to inspire others. Discretion is part of the product.

What Outcomes Look Like

Five candidate journeys. One named. Four anonymised.

These are the patterns we work with. Each pattern reflects a real candidate journey. Specific firm-by-firm placement counts are not published as a matter of policy. The patterns are the proof.

Named · consent on file

Karam Kahlon. HSBC 2026 Investment Banking Internship. Blackstone 2026 Spring Insight. On track for full-time conversion.

Anonymised

Two-sibling bulge bracket Spring Weeks

A single family with two children, both placed into bulge bracket IB Spring Weeks in 2026 across one Private Client Advisory engagement. Anonymised. Parent quote available on request.

Anonymised

Late-cycle US Elite repositioning

A US Elite London candidate who used PEAL-X to reposition under late-cycle constraints and secured the offer with two weeks to deadline. Anonymised. Written case study available on request.

Engagement Scope

Same complete system. Advisory intensity calibrated to the candidate.

Every engagement deploys the complete ECS Offer-Engineering System: founder-led advisory, the full ECS Vault, structured working sessions, assessment simulators, the six proprietary frameworks, the members area, and founder office hours. The variable across engagements is advisory intensity and support structure, calibrated to the candidate's situation.

The locked process

45-minute Private ECS Diagnostic. Scoping Note within 24 hours if there is fit. Proposal pre-read ahead of the Programme Scoping Call. Engagement scope, advisory intensity and investment are discussed verbally on the Programme Scoping Call. Engagement letter same day after verbal agreement.

Approximately thirty private clients per year, across all engagements combined.

Hassan Akram, Founder of Elite Careers Strategy
Hassan Akram, Founder & Principal Advisor

Built from outside the firms his clients enter.

Hassan Akram founded Elite Careers Strategy in 2018 and built the Offer-Engineering category from outside the firms his clients enter. He has reviewed 10,000+ applications to elite firms and built the ECS system used to prepare candidates for corporate law, investment banking and private-capital outcomes — 100+ documented outcomes, with evidence held on file.

He has delivered career strategy sessions for student clubs and audiences connected to Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan and Yale School of Management, and has published over thirty columns in The Times of India on elite firm and admissions strategy. His work is endorsed by Kristin Irish, formerly Head of Campus Recruiting at UBS New York and formerly Director of Student and Alumni Career Development at Yale School of Management.

He grew up on one of the most deprived streets in the UK, in Derby, and built ECS to open the doors he had to engineer his own way into.

Every Diagnostic is led personally by Hassan.
