For Families

The investment case, in numbers.

International families invest £100,000 to £200,000 in a degree. Without the right outcome at the end of it, that investment underdelivers. ECS exists at the last mile.

£175,000
White & Case London NQ salary. A single year exceeds the whole engagement.
£3M+

Less than 1%
ECS Private Client Advisory fee as a share of the career being engineered.

The engagement is a deep investment, and the smallest line item in a multi-million pound career decision.

For Parents

The final mile of elite-career selection is a separate problem from education.

Families often invest heavily in education, but the final mile into elite careers is a separate selection problem.

ECS exists for families who want discretion, structure and expert judgement at the point where education must convert into outcomes.

Methodology

The ECS Offer-Engineering System™.

Built from 100-plus documented client engagements at Goldman Sachs, Blackstone, White & Case, and the wider Magic Circle and US Elite firm set. Not generic advice. A system with a documented track record.

STAR-3®

The extended written application framework. Three layers beyond conventional STAR: decision-making process, quantified impact, and transferable insight. Designed for Magic Circle and bulge bracket written assessments.

PEAL-3®

Competency interview structure built from the hiring side. Captures the evaluative criteria that Goldman Sachs, White & Case, and Clifford Chance interviewers are trained to reward.

PEAL-X®

The advanced version of PEAL-3® for partner interviews and senior assessments. Depth and precision at the level Magic Circle partners and investment banking MDs expect.

VTMR®

Case study analysis framework for Assessment Centre case components. Structures the approach to problem framing, variable identification, and conclusion formation under time pressure.

BDC Data Point Theory®

Commercial reasoning framework for group exercises and written commercial questions. Builds arguments from specific data points, the standard elite firm assessors reward.

Commercial Fluency®

Division-specific commercial knowledge framework. Not generic market awareness: firm-specific, division-specific preparation for high finance and corporate law firm interviews.

Who ECS Works With

Thirty clients a year.

Families are based in London, Geneva, Hong Kong, Singapore, and New York. The range is the full span — from working-class households investing every available resource through to long-established professional and ultra-high-net-worth families. Some clients come through their families. Others come directly.

Clients have come from Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, and UCL, and from universities those firms have never recruited from. The system was built for that starting point.

The Only Route In

The Diagnostic.

A structured private conversation with the ECS team. We assess the candidate’s profile, target firms, current position, and the realistic probability of an offer. If the Private Client Advisory is the right fit, an engagement begins. If it is not, you will leave with a clear picture of where the candidate stands and what needs to change.

This is not a sales call. It is a professional assessment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What parents and candidates ask before applying.

What is Elite Careers Strategy?

Elite Careers Strategy (ECS) is a London-based one-to-one careers advisory practice founded by Hassan Akram. ECS works with families and candidates targeting Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Blackstone, KKR, White & Case, Kirkland & Ellis, Clifford Chance, Freshfields, and other Magic Circle and US elite corporate law and bulge bracket investment banking firms in London and New York. ECS has documented over one hundred elite career outcomes and operates with a ceiling of thirty private clients per year.

Who is Hassan Akram?

Hassan Akram is the founder of Elite Careers Strategy. He has delivered MBA student club career strategy sessions at Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan, and Yale School of Management, and spoken at the Festival of Education at Wellington College. He has published over thirty columns in The Times of India on elite firm and admissions strategy. He is endorsed by Kristin Irish, Former Head of Investment Banking Campus Recruiting at UBS Investment Bank New York, who described him as "the strongest career strategist I have encountered - anywhere in the world." Goldman Sachs, Blackstone, and White & Case are client destination firms for ECS candidates, not personal employment history.

Can I get into Goldman Sachs from a non-target university?

Yes. ECS has documented outcomes at Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Blackstone, and ten or more other investment banks from non-target universities including Exeter, Aberdeen, Manchester, and others. The barrier is systematic, not absolute. The candidates who clear it have engineered their applications and interview answers using a framework built from the hiring side. Karam Kahlon (University of Exeter) is one named example: five distinct elite finance outcomes including Morgan Stanley Spring Week, HSBC Investment Banking, and Blackstone Spring Insight.

How does ECS work?

Every ECS engagement is led personally by Hassan Akram from diagnostic through offer. The four-step ECS system runs in order: Diagnostic (private profile assessment against the real hiring bar), System Build (applying the proprietary framework suite to specific firm targets), Execution (application engineering, interview rehearsal, assessment centre preparation), and Outcome (offer engineering and post-offer positioning). The frameworks include STAR-3, PEAL-3, PEAL-X, VTMR, BDC Data Point Theory, Commercial Fluency, and the Offer-Engineering System, all proprietary to ECS.

How much does ECS cost?

Pricing is discussed in private on the diagnostic call, never in writing. The ECS Private Client Advisory is positioned against the newly qualified salary at the target firms, which exceeds £150,000 in London corporate law and reaches £175,000 at White & Case London. Career earnings in the first five to seven years post-qualification typically exceed £1 million for clients who secure their target offers.

Is ECS only for UK students?

No. Ninety-five per cent of ECS families are international. Clients come from Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Mumbai, Lagos, New York, and across the EMEA, Middle East, Asia, and GCC regions. The practice is London-based and operates globally across time zones, in English, with in-person London meetings available on request.

How do I apply to work with ECS?

Apply for a private diagnostic call at https://www.accessecs.com/start. The diagnostic is a structured forty-five-minute conversation led personally by Hassan Akram. A parent must be present on the call when the candidate is under twenty-two. The diagnostic is not a sales call; it is a private assessment of the candidate's profile against the real hiring bar at the target firms.

Every engagement begins with the diagnostic, a private conversation with the founder. It is the only route into the Private Client Advisory.
