Elite Careers Strategy
By Application · ~30 Private Clients per Year
Private Client Advisory · London-based · International engagement

The grades got them in. The offer still has to be won.

Private career advisory for ambitious families targeting the most selective careers in law, finance, private capital and consulting. One-to-one, and by application only.

Led by Hassan Akram. Parent or sponsor welcome. Applications are reviewed for fit before a Diagnostic is offered.

The problem

Strong candidates rarely fail for lack of ability.

They fail because nobody has worked out which part of the process they are losing. Good grades, a good university and real effort produce rejection after rejection, and the firms never say why. More preparation does not fix that. Knowing what is actually wrong does.

The lead case

White & Case, London Training Contract

Private Client Advisory · anonymised at the family’s request
Starting point

ABB at A-level and a non-target route. Four consecutive cycles of applications to Magic Circle and US firms in London.

The bottleneck

Not a single assessment-centre invitation. The application was being filtered before a person read it, and the written evidence was not answering what the firms were assessing.

What ECS did

Rebuilt the written case around commercial signal rather than academic credential, replaced generic motivation with firm-specific reasoning, and rehearsed the assessment centre against the real format.

Outcome

A training contract offer at White & Case London. The redacted offer letter is held on file.

Further private-client outcomes

Three engagements, three different selection problems.

About this evidence.Every outcome on this page arose from a paid Private Client Advisory engagement, is documented, and is held on file: named with permission, or anonymised at the family’s request. Outcomes vary by candidate, cycle and process; ECS does not guarantee offers, interviews or other results. ECS is independent and unaffiliated with any firm, university or scheme named here. Candidates who reached elite-firm outcomes using the public ECS frameworks alone, without a paid engagement, are shown separately on the track record.

Independent view
"The strongest career strategist I have encountered - anywhere in the world."

Kristin Irish. Former Head of Campus Recruiting, UBS Investment Bank New York. Former Deputy Director of Career Development, Yale School of Management.

Independent endorser, not a client.

The advisory behind the judgement

One principal. A structured practice around him.

Hassan Akram leads every first call and every session himself. What follows is not improvised: the plan is written down, every session is recorded, the work set is tracked, and the evidence is kept. You are buying one person’s judgement, with a proper practice behind it.

Ten thousand applications reviewed from the hiring side. More than one hundred documented outcomes on file. Capacity limited to roughly thirty engagements a year.

A structured Diagnostic

A defined assessment of the profile, the target firms and the point at which the case is breaking down.

A written advisory plan

The diagnosis, the sequence of work and the firms in scope, set out in writing before the work starts.

Recorded sessions and assigned work

Each session produces a record and assigned actions, tracked to completion rather than left to memory.

Assessment simulation

Interview, assessment-centre and written-test conditions rehearsed against the real process.

Governed evidence

Outcomes are documented, classified by relationship and held on file. Nothing is published without consent.

Family involvement, where agreed

Parents and sponsors are informed at the level the candidate has agreed, and no further.
